Laracon EU - PHP event of the year!

18 Aug 2013

When you have some of the leading figures in the PHP world all in one place, something special is bound to happen. Not only is the Laravel lead developer showing face (Taylor Otwell), we also have the pleasure of welcoming and listening to the likes of:

  • Fabien Potencier (PHP good practises grand master)
  • Phill Sparks (Laravel core developer)
  • Jordi Boggiano (Lead composer developer)
  • Jeffrey Way (Nettuts article extraordinaire and general good guy)

You know you’re in for a treat. The above individuals are responsible for some of PHP’s greatest achievements, and they’re being supported by some of the most vocal and talented members of the PHP community, including Kapil Verma, Frank de Jonge, Ben Corlett, Matthew Machuga and Ross Tuck, so you can see why I’m just a little excited. Not only this, but most of these guys I have spoken to personally and had them help me solve complex problems. I feel like they’re part of our development team at work.

It’s not often that such a conference gets me excited. It’s probably because all these people have helped me grow and learn as a developer over the past 24 months, and probably because I look up to each and every one in their own right. Whatever the reason, Laracon EU is looking to be the PHP conference of the year due to the breadth and diversity of the talk subjects.

If you haven’t heard about it, you should check it out immediately:

Hope to see you all there!
